‘Drive My Car’ Star Toko Miura to Launch New Event Series at MIPCOM
Miura will make the world premiere of Kansai TV’s conspiracy drama “Alpis” on a TV show next month.
Oscar-winning Drive My Car’s break-out star, Toko Miura, will attend the MIPCOM television convention in Cannes next month to present the world premiere of her new event series, Alpis.
Ayumi Snow (My Dear Axis, Quartet) creator of Miura and the Alpis will present the premiere at the Cannes Grand Auditorium on Tuesday, October 18 and participate in Q&A after the screening.
In the series, Miura plays Cheri, a television market-up artist who becomes involved in a false death sentence investigation that uncovers a state-wide conspiracy and cover-up. Inspired by true events, the series also stars Masami Nagasawa, Gordon Maida and Ryohei Suzuki.
Commercial network Kansai TV produced Alpis and will present the series at MIPCOM with organizers MIPCOMRX France. The series will be the first Asian world premiere at MIPCOM after the coronavirus pandemic.

MIPCOM is hoping that this year’s event, which runs from October 17-20, will make a comeback after a major pandemic for the TV business market.
